1995

Founded in Lafayette

Custom software, tailored training, and support for Louisiana businesses whose work couldn't wait on a vendor's release schedule.

1996–2001

Cutting our teeth where mistakes were expensive

A decade of enterprise work for large industrial clients — training, help desk operations, field reporting systems, and dozens of custom programs delivered under real operational pressure. It set the engineering standard everything since has been held to.

2002–2009

A product, a joint venture, and an acquisition

Apex partnered with National Oilwell Varco to form DrillLogic, LLC and build a field-to-office reporting platform that ran daily at more than fifteen companies worldwide. NOV acquired DrillLogic outright, and many of the engineers who built it went with the company.

2010s

Five industries, one engineering team

USWORKBASE for state and private agencies administering federal workforce funding. SmartRent for property managers, with accounting pushed straight into QuickBooks. Train Trax for training companies tracking certifications and expirations. iLandMan for land and lease teams working with GIS mapping. Plus reporting software built for a national industry standards body.

Still a software development corporation, still staffed with degreed and certified engineers, still in Lafayette — now putting AI into the same operational systems we've spent three decades building.

This process has been the same for three decades because it keeps both sides honest about scope.

Stage 01 — Before

Consultation, then a scope document

Every project opens with an initial consultation. If it's a fit, we run a formal needs assessment and write it up as a scope document — specific requirements, design considerations, milestone deliverables. Once you approve that, you get a formal proposal, turnkey or T&E.

Stage 02 — During

A project manager who answers the phone

On agreement, a PM is assigned as your single point of contact and owns whether deliverables meet expectations. Scope changes get a supplemental proposal — never a surprise. QA runs continuously in-house, and your team is part of it.

Stage 03 — After

Support, then the next version

When deliverables match expectations, long-term online and phone support options take over. Needs change and modifications are expected — when that happens we start the process again and pull the software back in line with where the business actually is.
